Sister Kathy Jamil

Kathy Jamil has been a school administrator for fifteen years at multiple
schools, including Universal School in Buffalo, Buffalo Public Schools,
and in her current position as director of a charter school. She is the co-
founder of Universal School and a board member. She holds a Masters
in Educational Leadership and Supervision and is currently in the
Educational Leadership and Policy doctoral program at D’Youville
College. She is the chair of The Islamic School League of America, a
national organization for Islamic Schools, and has served on multiple
non-profit boards and committees, including National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children, ISNA Education Forum, American
Center for School Choice, and RAHAMA – Resources and Help Against
Marital Abuse. She co-developed a character education middle school
curriculum for public schools, and worked with youth girls through her
years as a Girl Scout leader. She is a recipient of the National Just
Communities Awards for Education.
